After a positively inhumane waiting period, we have finally managed to see exactly what is in store for the 12th entry into the Mortal Kombat mythos.
Mortal Kombat 1 is here, showcasing a new era of peace – or at least, that is what Fire God Liu Kang was hoping for.
Then Shang Tsung fucked it all up.
A whole new timeline, quick to be drowned in blood. It is MORTAL KOMBAT after all.
The trailer is quick to throw out a ton of familiar faces, curiously enough only really showing us long-time kharacters. Even with a few rewatches, I am not catching any new folks in the ensuing chaos – so I feel that we may have more surprises to come.
NetherRealm Studios have also dropped some details on what we can expect from the actual release of the game, including versions and the goodies within:

Curious to see how the editions make special mention of early access to “six new playable fighters” and “five new Kameo Fighters”, almost suggesting that the post-release DLC roster is already counting 11 incoming blood bags.
It will be interesting to see exactly what is on offer as we get more clarification.
