The initial DLC run for Mortal Kombat 1 is drawing to a close, with Takeda serving as the final announced character rounding out the first Kombat Pack.
Introduced in Mortal Kombat X, Takeda was one of most enjoyed new fighters – combining telekinetic shenanigans with bladed whips to create a super fun ninja playstyle. He also had the fun lore of being Kenshi’s son and the apprentice of Scorpion – being a student of the Shirai Ryu.
And for people who are attending Evo, they actually get a chance to play him early.

Series co-creator Ed Boon shared a very generous thread of details on his social media, detailing that Mortal Kombat 1 has remained a top selling title even 9 months after its initial launch.
There is also a suite of buffs and balance changes coming to the game, with some of these directly sourced from player feedback – targeting fighters that people felt “felt could use the most love.”

We look forward to supporting #MK1 far beyond this... and would love to get some feedback from the community.... pic.twitter.com/hVUv24vPBa
There is also talk of some further news coming as part of future San Diego Comic Con festivities, with some sources talking about a ‘Mortal Kombat 1: Year 2’ strategy reveal that may describe what is next in store for NetherRealm’s bloody fighter. This could well allude to a Kombat Pack 2, or even some Story DLC that was previously hinted at – only time will tell.
