November 2025’s PlayStation Plus Essential Games Have Been Revealed

Felines and phsyics

There’s something so comforting about the sound of a purr. Sitting, watching the world go by out the window, listening to the content noise made by your best non-human friend, you just can’t beat it. And when you’re not listening to the tune of your car shifting gears, a cat’s content purrs aren’t bad either. I’m kidding, I love cats and I’m indifferent to cars, but I thought this intro was clever and ran with it. Anyway, games, right?

As announced on the PlayStation Blog, the PlayStation Plus Essentials games for October are Stray, EA Sports WRC 24, and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. All three games will be available on the service on November 4.

Stray absolutely exploded onto the scene back in 2022, with everyone and their do…I mean, faithful feline friend playing the puzzle platformer upon its release. Playing as an adorable ginger cat, you make your way through an unfamiliar post-human world filled with hapless robots who just want to go about their robot lives. Solving relatively simple puzzles and avoiding some nasty little gremlins along the way, Stray has a simple, yet ultimately touching story that keeps your paws moving. I didn’t fall as deeply in love with it as most did, but I’m on the wrong side of history, as we scored it a 9, saying in our review that “Stray finds its place amongst some of the best indie titles there are, telling an elegant tale of mystery, danger and adventure through the eyes of two unlikely companions.”

Look, like I said, I’m really not a car guy, but a good friend of mine tells me that the WRC games are pretty class. This latest Codemasters outing lets players fang it around corners at dangerous speeds, all in the name of setting a ridiculously fast course time. This entry, helmed by the famed racing game developer, is widely appreciated for a tight set of car controls and awesome mechanics, but is sullied slightly by some technical issues that prevent it from being a motorsport masterpiece.

I bet you’ve always wondered what would happen if a cyclops fought a mammoth, or Zeus took on a caveman in a fistcuffs duel. Well, thanks to Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, you won’t find out, but you will get to see floppy stickmen bash the shit out of each other with a bunch of physics-based shenanigans taking place when they collide. This game is as simple as pitting two opposing forces against each other and watching to see what happens, which is almost always unexpected and/or entertaining. You can even make customer floppy stickmen, which adds to the carnage and craziness. You’re unlikely to spend hours upon hours here, but the time you do spend will be spent well.

If you haven’t downloaded Alan Wake II, Goat Simulator 3, and Coccoon, you have until November 3 to do so. As always, please remember that you can add these games to your library and download them later if you don’t have any precious space on your hard drive.

Which game will you be downloading first? What games would you like to see in October? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
