What do old ladies, punk rockers, construction workers, private mercenaries and beekeepers all have in common? Well, they’re all playable in Watch Dogs: Legion. It was a risk introducing a mechanic that allows players to take control of almost any NPC into the third-person action hacking series, but it’s one that’s seemingly paid off (we gave it an 8).
The new playstyle is a bit of a departure for the series, so it’s understandable that some folks might be wary of taking the plunge and buying the game for themselves, unaware if this gameplay gimmick will be to their liking. Well, for those people, I’ve got some good news. Ubisoft has recently announced that Watch Dogs: Legion will be receiving a free trial weekend across all platforms, running from March 26-30.
This free trial will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X&S and PC and will allow players to explore four of the eight boroughs, recruit any of the NPCs in the game, take part in all of the game’s open-world activities and play through the campaign up until the Skye Larson mission. Players will also be able to take part in the newly-released online component of Legion during this trail. You’ll be able to preload the trial from 4am AEDT on March 25, with the trial beginning proper at 3am AEDT on March 26.
If you’re on the fence about Legion, this is a great opportunity to dip your toes in and find out whether it’s a game that you want to nab. If you play the trial and dig it, the good news keeps on coming, as your progress will transfer over to the full game if you decide to purchase it. The game, its numerous editions and the season pass will also be going on sale this week as well:
- Xbox: From March 25th to April 15th – 50% off of the Standard and Ultimate editions.
