Focus Home Interactive Acquires Streets Of Rage 4 Developer Dotemu

French connection

Dotemu, the French co-developer and publisher of Streets of Rage 4 is being acquired by Focus Home Interactive, publisher of games such as A Plague Tale: InnocenceThe Council and Hood: Outlaws & Legends.

In a statement released by Focus Home Interactive, the French publisher said it was acquiring 77.5% of the share capital of Dotemu, “a world leader in retro gaming”, for €38.5 million.

On the acquisition, Focus Home Interactive CEO Christophe Nobileau said that “The arrival of Dotemu marks a key step in the acceleration of the Group’s growth and in the diversification of its expertise. By enriching our editorial line, we are opening up a new revenue stream and new market shares to conquer in a fast-growing sector.”

Dotemu has made a name for itself in recent years by bringing older series and titles back to life, such as the aforementioned Streets of Rage 4 (which I gave a big juicy 10 in my review). The studio is currently working on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge alongside developer Tribute Games, as well as Metal Slug Tactics alongside developer Lekir Studio.
