Developer Boss Team Games has announced RetroRealms: Halloween and RetroRealms: Ash vs Evil Dead, two 16-bit platformers based on iconic horror franchises. They will be released on October 18 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
Revealed as part of another IGN exclusive report, the studio behind Evil Dead: The Game has lifted the lid on a brand-new series with Michael Myers and Ash Williams taking centre stage for the first two releases. As the name suggests, the games are retro action platformers that wouldn’t look out of place at an arcade, though the visuals are significantly sharper than anything you would’ve seen in the 80s.
Each game will be sold separately, but Boss Team Games are providing an incentive to grab the double pack, as owning both games will allow you to take characters from one and play as them in the other. So, if you’ve ever wondered if Michael would mow through Deadites more efficiently than Ash, this will be your opportunity to find out. We don’t have Aussie pricing just yet, but based on the US price tag, you can expect each game to run you around $40, with the double pack coming in at around $75.

Boss Team Games has been on a tear this week. The studio announced the existence of two Halloween games yesterday, with this being one of them. The other game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and will have input from series creator John Carpenter, so it’ll look a little different to RetroRealms.
