It came as a bit of a surprise when The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was announced, a welcome surprise that is. Since the game’s announcement we’ve seen a number of screenshots that gave us our first look at the game’s art style and a teaser trailer that sets the tone, but after that, all we’ve been given is an announcement of a delay into 2022.
As part of the Spring Future Games Show, Gollum has received a new ‘sneak peek trailer’ that shows off a cheeky bit of gameplay. Short and sweet, this trailer shows the titular deformed Hobbit making his way through ominous caverns within Mordor. Orcs, giant spiders and other beasties are all present, ensuring that Gollum’s journey will be filled with treacherous challenges. Despite being less than a minute long, the trailer does have me excited to see more.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is set to release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X&S, Xbox One and PC in 2022.
