Our First Look At Omni-Man In Mortal Kombat 1 Is Brutal And Filled With Nods To The Animated Series

Think Scorpion, think!

A new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer has dropped, giving us our first gory look at the game’s first post-launch DLC fighter, Omni-Man.

The first Kombatant to make their way to Mortal Kombat 1 from the previously announced Kombat Pack will be none other than the moustachioed menace from Viltrum. This short one-minute trailer lets us see the hero-turn-tyrant in action, launching heavy punches, blasting across the screen at ungodly speeds and throwing his foe around the place like a ragdoll. Not only do we get to hear the wonderful JK Simmons reprise his role as Omni-Man from the Invincible TV series, but we also get to see some of the nastier moments from the animated show reenacted within MK.

From a certain spine-snapping move used on Scorpion to the son-smashing antics seen in his x-ray move, Netherrealm has been very faithful to the now beloved antagonist. For my money though, the best of the best comes from his fatality, where he holds his opponent at arm’s reach, slamming them through a train…and all of its passengers. Oh, and Tremor is in this trailer as well, though I had to watch it back a few times before I noticed. The Kameo fighter is seen lending a hand while trying his best to live up to the stones part of the old sticks and stone saying.

While we didn’t get a specific date, the trailer does let us know that Omni-Man and Tremor will be dropping in November as part of the Kombat Pass.
